139 Near Peeble's House, Va. Tuesday Nov. 8th 1864 This being the day for election of Presidential Electors, I was appointed Judge to conduct the election at the Polls of Berks, Chester, Northampton, Lehigh and Lancaster Counties. The Polls were opened at 10 oclock and closed about two P.M. There were 50 votes polled at our place 36 for Abraham Lincoln and 14 for Geo. B. McClelland. The regiment gave a majority of 68 for the Lincoln Electors. In making out the report of the election we made duplicate reports for each County. To the best of my knowledge the election was a fairly conducted one - no electioneering being allowed.
