158 Fort McGilvery, Va. Sunday, Dec. 18th 1864 Was on Regimental Inspection this morning, in command of the Company. Spoke to Captain Brumm this afternoon about the necessity of making some promotions in Company "F." and asked him to have Jacob Paulus made 1st Sergt., Henry Hess, 2nd Sergeant. The Captain agreed to this provided I would consent having Corporal Davis made 4th Sergeant. Also spoke to him in relation to Paulus' bounty. Monday 19th Made out a list of promotions in Company "F". Rolandus Correll, private Company "C" was wounded.
