164 Fort McGilvery, Va. Monday, January 2d 1865 Received notice that Sergeant Fisher is at Camp Parole, Annapolis, Md, and had drawn clothing &c. Completed Muster Rolls and gave them to Captain G. W. Brumm. The Chesterfield Rebel battery, threw a shell into our fort, which passed through the artillery men's tent - no one hurt. Gave Labana Shaffer a pass to take a pair of boots, 2 prs socks, and pair of Gloves to Uriah Smeltzer, who is sick at City Point. Tuesday 3d Rec'd letter from Jones & Co. Phila. offering to furnish a Uniform, including Dress Coat, Vest, Pantaloons, sash and 1st Lt. Shoulder straps for $75 to $105.
