177 convened at two oclock and heard several witnesses, and his own statement, which was about as follows: He admitted dropping an empty shell down the chimney into the fire, for fun. His testimony showed that there was some powder still in the shell as it blew the fire over those in the bombproof but no explosion took place and no one was hurt further than slight burns: The Court adjourned at 4 oclock without fixing any sentence. The Inspector General condemned the following property belonging to Co. F.: 1 Endfield Rifle 2 Springfield Rifles 1 Bayonet.
