June, THURSDAY, 23, 1864. arose early in the morning & Commenced working on our breastworks was on fatigue had very warm weather had a pudding for supper were aroused in the night & stood in the breastworks [until?][?] FRIDAY, 24. very hot weather wrote a letter to Mrs Addington 1 to Albert &, one to Alice Ostrander SATURDAY, 25. very warm drew rations of whisky & had a good time was on guard @ night
