August, WEDNESDAY, 31, 1864. was on picket all day was mustered for pay recd. a [letter?] from Marie was relieved from [post?] at 5 1/2 Am September THURSDAY, 1. worked in the forenoon on breast[works?] Soft boiled & potatoes [?] writing a letter to Marie FRIDAY, 2. went to the [forage?] train about noon had orders to march while I was gone destination Atlanta. entered Atlanta @ 7 Pm. Stayed in the City all night
