December MONDAY, 5, 1864. started early in the morning marched 15 miles through a swampy country the roads were bad TUESDAY, 6 moved very slow the roads were swampy & obstructed by trees WEDNESDAY, 7. went out foraging got 3 chickens &. Norm came in with 4 Turkies so that we had a good meal Jessie Campbell shot himself by accident while out foraging Charley Brown died suddenly
