December, THURSDAY, 8, 1864. marched about 8 or 10 miles foraged considerable as usual Norm started out in the morning with [nelt?] fisk foraging marched out of our way nearly all day FRIDAY 9. marched about 7 miles the first Div. had some fighting in the afternoon but drove the Rebs camped for the night 15 miles from Savanna SATURDAY, 10. went back a mile to the wagon train. marched 11 miles Pm. & Camped for the night 5 miles from Savanna heard Considerable Canonading on the right
