SUNDAY, AUGUST 20, 1865. Enter Polk Co - pass thro Rising sun - Dinner near Desmoine city - pass thro the city in the afternoon Ford the river above the bridge - Travel 8 miles, & camp near the county line MONDAY 21 Get a shower of rain before starting - Dallas County go to Jacob Cowger's and Stop for the night Folks all well - Country not so good - too much wet land TUESDAY 22 At Jacob Cowgers Leave at 9 - oclock and pass through Adel thence to Redfield thence west to Guthrie Co and put up for the night at MCDowells
