your arms around my neck and tell me how much you think of me. How is little Mauds health? is she getting healthy again? train her aright and teach her to love her papa who is trying honorably to do my duty to my country and family. Lieut Moore is not healthy and will return home on furlough as soon as Capt Baker returns. I do not know when I will get home to see you, but remember one thing that I will do my duty & I know your noble magnanimous heart will cheerfully sustain and encourage me. Let us pray I know God will bring us safely together again. I am confident of his care over us and have full faith that we will be permitted to enjoy the great blessing of each others society once again. Bless His holy name. I feel so devoted to you. O bless your dear heart. I would love to kiss you this morning. Kiss Maud & [Jimmie? ] for me most tenderly & just reflect darling that you are indeed the world to me & that my whole soul is ful to overflowing with tenderness & devotion to you
