There is no danger as far as can be asertained of an attack on this point. Military matters here as they have for 4 months. In status quo. No money yet, but certainly will have in a few days. Will send it home for your benefit & to pay debts as soon as I can get a safe opertunity. Darling think of me as ever loyal and true to you. God bless you dear sweet soul I would rather die ten thousand deaths than prove false to such a true blessed woman. My whole being revolts at the thought of such things. Give my love to Mrs. Findly, Glenn Horn, [Cole & Baker?] and all other friends. I see they are drafting in Iowa.
