Capt Duckworth and John S. are well. [Snoddy?] is soldiering right along as though he had always been used to it, and I think will make an excellent soldier. William Duckworth is getting along well with his colored company. Now my own sweet pet, take every care of yourself do not get up to quickly, though I know that you will not, for, you take every care of your health, what do Finnie & Mandie think of the babe? I know they have a great time talking about it, Bless their little hearts. I do want to see them so much, I presume that I shall not know them, hardly, for I know they have grown a great deal, my health was never better, and I am just as fleshy as you ever saw me, and I so [mischievous?] and will just make you kite around good when I get home, sure. How pleasant it will be for you to be in the garden in way, and see to having every thing fixed up snugly. It will assist you in passing off the time so pleasantly. But don&'t you work a bit, I think that I surely will get a letter this evening from you. I am so anxious to get another one. I am of opinion that Lt Genl Grant will do something with the Potomac army this spring, and I
