going home about the last of August, while George is on maneuvers.  
Capt Woodhouse got promoted to a Major today.  
Sgt Brown of Company G and Sgt Whitmore of Company H received their appointments as Second Lieutenants.  Don't know why mine hasn't come through or been turned down.  Probably will come through in time.  Major Jenkins couldn't understand why the others came through first and neither can anyone else.  
Sgt. Wilson of Morning Sun was reduced to a private because of drinking, I guess.  We are having a company NCO meeting tonight at the Captain's order. Guess he is going to give us the devil because the boys have been raising the dickens over the 4th & since.  
The lunch was fine.  We ate supper - a midnight snack and breakfast.  Pretty nice.  
Hippe got his promotion and transfer.  I don't know whether he got married or not but Mary has gone back home.
