Nevertheless, I still think I will get my commission in time and at least I'll have something tangible to show a small measure of accomplishment for the time, worry and inconvenience the National Guard has caused both of us. If it wasn't for being so darn far away it still wouldn't be a bad deal, cause then we could see each other oftener and the kids You have been a wonderful wife during the 12 years and I haven't a single complaint to make. I only hope it may continue another 50 years. That should be enough. Yes, I remember 12 years ago on June 25th. It seems only yesterday. It doesn't seem possible that we have a son who will be 8 years old this November. I received a letter from your mother today & will write her this afternoon. She didn't seem to be feeling very good. Hope they can sell their share of the
