H & S Co, 136th Med Regt Camp Claiborne, La Oct. 7, 1941 - 9:20 PM My dear: I am so excited about getting to come home and see you all again that I can hardly write. I bought my ticket for the round trip today. It was $21.55 from Bringhurst to Bringhurst via St. Louis and Burlington. Don't tell a soul (not even Ruth or the kids) but I may be able to come home from here Friday at 8:00 AM and arrive in Burlington at 5:35 AM Saturday morning. I would take a taxi home and get to eat breakfast with you. I might even get to sleep a few winks before breakfast is ready so you can have Ruth sleep in the front room and I'll come to the side screen door and wake you up. How would that be? Don't count too strong
