H&S Co, 136th Med Regt In bivouac, 41\2 mi SW Oakdale, La. AP0 34, Camp Claibourne Sept 12, 1941. My dearest: I received your letter of the 9th and that is pretty fast service. Also the box of cookies and they were excellent. I passed them around and the boys all thought they were delicious. They didn't last long but prefer to have them go that way, rather than sit around and no one care for them. Several of the boys have had boxes and one was especially good. I asked him for the recipe so you can make some candy like it. When he gets it, I'll send it to you. What was the check for that Max gave you? If there was any kind of a statement you can send it or put it away so I can see it when I get home. Glad he is getting along better. You speak about buying out the shop there. What are they asking for it? Didn't they agree to sell it to you for what they had in it? If you think you might buy it, you had better ask them how much it takes and have the dope all ready to think about when I get home. Don't wait until then to start or it will take too
