H&S Co, 136th Med Regt APO 34, Camp Clairborne, La In bivouac - E of De Ridder, La Thursday evening, 9/4/41 @ 8:00pm. My dearest Dorothea: I mislaid your letter of the 29th. I know there were some things to answer but couldn't recall what they were. So I'm glad I found it. On the F-P Employee's Assn Insurance Policy, I am going to let it lapse and keep the government insurance. That was what I had in mind when I took out the government insurance policy - to drop this because it is group insurance which becomes more costly each year, So I've had the cheap insurance and now will drop it and take up the government policy. That's why I want you to send me the notices you receive right away and also why I don't want you to to pay any of my insurance premiums unless they are some I have told you to - like Carol's. By the way, have you paid it? Be sure and tell me. It was very nice of you to take the Gardner girls a chicken. That was very thoughtful of you. But you always are. In fact, you are the most loving, considerate, thoughtful woman I ever met. May your good graces continue and grow in number and use. It was just like Bob Allerdice to plague Martha about not coming to the wedding. He is a very, very proud of his kids. He never had much
