drink quite a bit when we are in such a warm climate and to frequent heat exhaustion. As for the Army ruining some of the men sent to it, you must remember that there is quite a bit of drinking, raping, robbing, murder and other criminal activity going on right there in Burkington all the time and it can't be blamed on the Army. So as I see it, there is no more, if as much, chance of a man going to the dogs in the Army as there is in private life. The big problem, as I anticipate it, is going to be the unemployment when this war scare is over and these thousands of men are turned loose to make their living in civilian life. I am sick and tired of these reporters writing in the [illegible] as to the morale of the Army being low. Those reporters need their noses kicked and their right to write taken away from them. It almost is the same as nazi propaganda in tearing down the American morale. I'm going to give my boys hell for griping so much and put a stop to it. It doesn't help any, anyhow, and only a softie is all the time crabbing. Well, darling I had better stop now and get some other things out of the way. Give all the kids a hug and
