to talk about in the first place. I got your letter of Aug 30th with the kids letters and drawings. My, they are good artists. And Carol Ann can surely print nice. Did John R & Clifford do all of that by themselves. It was very very pretty. Gee, they surely did nick you on the car, but that is about what it usually costs and that cable burns out about once a year. Just about this time, too. I got the wedding announcement which was very nice. I'm very glad for Martha, for she was always such a pleasant, good little girl. I can still remember holding her on my lap and rocking her and Junior, when I was teaching school in Lockridge. That was 18 years ago. Doesn't seem possible, does it? So John R. is getting to be quite the farmer, eh? Donald said his mother enjoyed having him out there, so much. Hope you have a good time at Bham Labor Day. Don't exert yourself but try and get a little rest. I saw the write up in the paper. Hope you saved it as the copy I saw was Rev Thayer's and he kept it himself. On the way back from Alex we stopped at Thayers to pick him up and Mrs. Thayer gave us a glass of lemonade. They have a very nice three room
