I don't think the women living down here, doing nothing and 50 miles from their husbands, is very satisfactory. Of course they get to see them about every two weeks for a day and night but pretty expensive and tiring to drive back and forth, etc. If I don't get a Captaincy in the Judge Advocate General's department by the middle of December, then I guess I'll quit & come home. I"m not going to accept a commission as 2nd Lt in the MAC. I am enclosing two more rolls of films, some letters, pictures, etc. for you to keep for me. Why don't you take these films to Mutters or to Paul Phillips. Maybe they can develop them OK. I hate to take good scenes and then get no pictures. Well, must close. I surely regretted your not being able to come down but can understand why you couldn't. I'lll either be home or you can come down in October. Affectionately your John N.
