dinner & brot me home in eve & haven't seen them since – Frank Hootman was in bad car accident today - Going to work at ordnance plant – had head on col. near West Point at cross roads - Two women in car one was killed instantly & other not expected to live Frank hurt about chest & head & in hospital at Ft Madison - They were changing shifts & he worked till 12 midnight & got home at 2AM & had to be at work at 8 AM & was driving fast in our car by himself. The women were going to early mass - I talked to Kate & guess Claude didn't come home - Frank took physical ex & goes about Aug. 1 - Mr McEachin was here last Sun eve  on way to Fairfield with Mr & Mrs Weller who were taking him to train & we had nice little visit I also had letter from Vern Sat- too so felt highly honored to hear from both of you at once & had been looking for both letters I liked the poetry you sent & will put
