4-11-43 Dear Mommie: I'll be home a week from today - unless I can't get the car to make it. I tried to start it yesterday and it started OK but after running for about hour or five minutes - it stopped. So couldn't start it again and had to get a mechanic. He had to bring a "hot shot" coil and then drove it over to his garage and said he would try to have it finished by Wednesday. I want to be sure and be all set to leave here just as soon as I can. On the finances - I'll wait until I get home. I think they have probably sold the Hamestake by now. Not a whole lot left. Just leave the money in the checking account. Won't make much but will make some. Nothing much new. I'm all thrilled that school is about over. We had a dedication of a flag marker Saturday morning. Quite impressive. We had to all wear white gloves. I may have to write a check to cover my expenses and don't think I have any blanks, but it's too late for you to send me any. I'll be seeing you soon. Hope you don't have too much planned. Love & kisses to all Daddy
