Dearest Dorothea
I didn't get a letter off to you yesterday, so will put one out today. I'm surely glad you got the furnace fixed, even if winter is practically over now.
I received the license for the old Ford today - just a little plate for renewal. Cost $9.25. Now I'll have to get the lights fixed and then will be ready to start right out.
I had to pay $59.87 as my March bill for board and room. That's plenty steep, isn't it. Now we have to eat breakfast here too, so suppose our bill this half month will be pretty stiff. We were assessed $7.50 for our party and banquet which will be Friday night, Apr 16th.
I will come by Chgo-Peoria, etc.
I read about Blanche's father in the paper. Too bad. Please give her my sympathy.
How's Wilma's little boy?
Surely hope you do get the house cleaning all done before I come home. 
Too bad about the grass on the terrace, but guess nothing much can be done about it. Sorry the kids lost the black kitten. Maybe you'll get it back.
Glad to get the news about Mac. Surely wish him good luck and hope he comes through OK. Seems as though the war is going to last a long time. 
I was surprised at the news about Claude. Hope he is happy. He surely has had quite a time. 
From the prices quoted in the papers, I think they must have sold some more of the stock.
You had better not write me any more after Tuesday of next week. Unless you mail it Tuesday, don't send it.
