Sunday, April 4, 1943 Dearest Dorothea: We are having some spring weather here now and hope it continues. I haven't received my new license plates yet, but hope they hurry up with them. Surely would be fine to be out of debt, but don't know what we would worry about then. I'm glad you got Ruthie to help you clean house because she will know how you want it done and won't be as much trouble as if it were some one you had to tell everything. Since you have the furnace fixed, it will be nice to get things cleaned up again once more. Seems like you keep having plenty of trouble - now with the drain, huh? I can drive home in two days if I don't have any trouble. I don't know for sure when I'll start. Just as soon as I can get loose - I know that for sure. The kids certainly had quite a time with the April fooling - didn't they? And to think John R didn't know he was drinking salt water until he had drank a whole glass full!! Did John R & Cliffie eat mustard or catsup on their cotton sandwiches. Enclosed is Warren's letter, I'll not try & write him for he is not there now. Also en-
