Burlington, Ia Mar. 29, 1943 My Dearest:- Just a few lines before I turn in for the night. Tressa is here tonight. She is staying all night with me. She has been looking for an unfurnished apartment but so far, has been unable to find. I guess she will take the job at Pennys. They pay much better than Schramms. I think it is terrible the wage they pay. They are supposed to be the store. "Lowell Fuller called me again today and they had sold 5 shares of Barnsdall oil. So I went to the bank & got the certificate for them. I am enclosing the receipt. I had a very slow day today. Business hasn't been so rushing for a week or so. I made an appointment for 9 p'clock to have McDermott look at Carol's teeth. I suppose that will cost plenty. I feel like I have to do it though. It had been very warm here today almost too warm. They were supposed to fix the furnace today but never showed up. It is just the limit
