Burlington, IA Mar. 23, 1943 Tues 9:30 PM My Dearest:- Just a few lines before I turn in for the night. Business has been a little slow this week, so I have been staying home in the morning. This morning, I did a hard washing, scrubbed both porches and cleaned up the basement and I was sure tired. I went down to work at two thirty and got home about nine tonight. I see by tonights paper, that Raymond Wright is being sent to New Orleans. That wouldn't be a bad place to go, would it? Hope you are as lucky. In a town that size, there should be some living facilities. When they come around to you, you want to think about that too. Don't choose some Camp where it is up against a little town like Tullahoma. I don't suppose what you say will have much to do with it anyway. Do you? I am sure hoping honey. John R is going up to Grandpa Rains to spend his spring vacation, which starts Thursday noon and lasts until Tuesday noon. He was dying to get up there so he can play with Bobbie. I haven't heard a thing from Marian Kinyon yet. Don't know whether Marie has or not, I haven't talked to her lately. This has been a beautiful day, but rather windy. It has been typical March weather alright. The nights here been perfectly beautiful
