Burlington Ia Mar. 1, 1943 My Dearest: It is five o'clock & I have my last one under the dryer, so will scribble a few lines & and mail it on the way home from work. I paid Elmer Sutton for the Ins. on the car & have the policy & will put it in the bank box. It was $3.00. I also found the check I was looking for from Jarvis for 9.00. So I will enclose it to you in this letter. I have had a very busy day. I gave 2 permanents today. One 10.50 & one 8.50 so didn't do so bad. It has been rather cold out today & they are reporting a cold wave for tonight again for zero weather. I hope they miss it I hate to think of any more cold weather. Hope they brought the coal today. I had a real nice time at Hamffs last nite. We played rummy and had light refreshments afterwards. We had sardines, crackers, cheese and peanut butter and white cake with coconut frosting & coffee. Just Marian, Marie & I went. They dropped Fannie on account of she didn't entertain
