Burlington, Ia Feb. 26, 1940 Dearest:- I neglected writing you again last night, but it was 10:30 when I got home from work. I was just exhausted, so fell into bed. It is 5:15 & I am all through so thought I would write you before going home. I have to go to Lawrence's over on So. 7th St & give her a haircut & eye-brow tweeze on the way home. She is sick. She was our neighbor you know, so didn't feel like turning her down. I don't know what is the matter with her. I had my hair washed this afternoon and am sitting under the dryer now. This has been a rather slow day, as far as business is concerned. I was sort of glad though as I feel very tired. Honey, as soon as you get your Captaincy can I quit work? I feel so tired all the time, I believe I had better stop before I wreck myself. I believe we can get along all O.K. on what you would make if we are careful don't you? It has been very cold & windy here today. It was only about 12 above by our thermometer today. And the wind was raw. I received your letter today & so sorry you got a blister on your heel. Do be careful with it & don't get infection When will your school be out? If we would go with you, would you want us to go right away? or wait until school was out? I sure hope we can.
