Burlington Ia Feb., 20, 1943 My Dearest:- At last I have found time to sit down. This has been a very long day to me. I didn't get home until seven tonight and by the time I ate my supper and got the children to bed it was 9 o'clock. I then thought of the basement full of clothes. I went down and got them & folded them and then took my bath & here I am. The end of a perfect day. I rec'd your letter with the enclosed check Thanks a lot. I also got the statement Lowell made out for you and will enclose it. It isn't made out the way you said, but the transaction had already gone through. Do you still want to bank to mail you a receipt? If so, I will ask Vince to make it out & I will mail it to you. I had Mrs Jamison today for a bleach. You remember (the ones that lived in the apt with the little girl) I guess everything must be running along very good now, as she is pregnant & not working. He was discharged from the navy & is working at the Murray. I got a letter from Ruth Reeves today, saying she would be in Burlington Monday. She is state instructress for the Eastern Star this
