Burlington, Ia Feb 18, 1943 My Dearest:- Just finished work & am very tired but thought I would drop you a few line before I got home so I can mail it. So this will probably be short & sweet & hard to best. Enclosed is a check from Consolidated. Vince hasn't called me yet to come down & sign the check, so suppose he doesn't have it yet. Everyone in all O.K. here. Thank the lord for that. I am very busy in the shop. Can't take care of all of it. Have had to turn some away. Marion Garrett was in today & I gave her a shg fw & manicure. She is some blow. George is in England now in a big base hospital. She says he bought a dog & a bicycle and likes his work real well. He is still a 1st Lt. She says he will probably stay that way now, as the medical is the slowest one to progress in, of course you found that out. But anyway you have had two promotions & I am hoping the third one will soon be along. I gave Mrs Conn a permanent tonight and turned out real well. She has been a nice customer
