Burlington, Ia Feb. 3, 1943 Wed 9 P M My Dearest: Just a few lines before I turn in for the night. My foot is so much better today. I can get my shoe on now and that is something, for I intend to go to work tomorrow morning. It is still swollen quite a bit, but will be for a while I imagine. I just talked to Ed for a few minutes. He leaves at 5 o'clock in the morning. He is taking his niece & another girl and another man with him. Marion says they have had quite a few people to look at the house but haven't sold yet. As soon as he gets located, she hopes to have the house sold and out too. I haven't rec'd any letter from you yet. I am looking for one in the morning. I suppose you have started to school by this time. Do you like your living accommodations? Write and tell me all about it. Well ten more weeks and then maybe I will get to see you again. That seemed like a -heck of a long time, but suppose they will soon go by. John R and Cliff are both much better. I let them go back to school this afternoon. It was raining this morning and I didn't want them to get wet. They both cough yet, but no nearly as bad. I hope that will be the end of their colds. We have surely had a siege this winter.
