Burlington, IA Jan., 30, 1943 Sat nite 10 bells My Dearest: Another week has passed. In one way the seem to go past pretty fast and in another way, they are slow. It seems like years and years since you left home. Does it seem a long time to you? I received two letters from you today. They are old by the time I get them. One was written last sun and the other monday- I had a very busy day. I didn't get home until 6:30 tonight. The kids went to the show to see Bambi. They had to stand in line so long to get in and then it was seven o'clock before they got home. They were crazy about the picture. Mother Calhoun said that Herbert had called & wanted to know if she could come up & help them out. Said they had taken Dorthy to the hospital with pneumonia. She had a 102 temperature. Just too bad, I doubt if they can get anyone to come in. I advertised up there for help & didn't get one answer. I feel rather quilty keeing your mother, but she couldn't do all the work there at Herb's anyhow. I do hope Dorothy will get better right away. She doesn't have much reserve anyway. I just had a bath & am ready for bed. I have a terrible cold in
