Burlington, Ia Jan., 21, 1943 My Dearest.- Your letter of the 17th (sunday) received this morning. I am glad you are over your cold & hope you won't have any more. Your mother isn't very well. She looks very badly. It worries me a great deal. I suppose it takes time. I am so afraid she will over do here. I tell her to do nothing only get them a bite to eat. Carol went back to school today. She is feeling much better. However, I don't think I will take her to dancing school today. I am afraid she will get too hot & take more cold. She has a cough from her cold. Your mother has one too. She is taking a tonic now. I put my add in the paper again for help. Don't suppose it will do any good. I will try anyway. It is a beautiful day over head, but thawing very fast. When this snow goes off, it will surely make a slop. I got 4 1/2 ton of coal this morning from Baker Coal Co. maybe it won't take so much from now on. Enclosed is the receipt, where I paid the bank the $25. Also the letter
