Burlington, IA Jan 18, 1943 My Dearest: - Rec'd two letters from you today & so glad to get them and to learn your cold is better. Little Carol has been sick in bed with her cold today, she is better tonight but is still pretty full & says her stomach hurts so. I think I will keep her in for a couple more days & she will soon be over it. I had to go down to work at ten so she & Grandma hit it off pretty well I guess. Ruth is no better. They don't know what is the matter. They are going to keep her a few days for observation. She had the hiccoughs so bad this morning & they just couldn't get them stopped. I didn't get up to see her, as I felt like I should go home to my sick baby. I will try & run up in the morning for a few minutes. I am just working from 9 until 12 tomorrow & then have to go back at 5 & work until 9 I suppose. I don;w know what I am going to do. I haven't been able to find anyone to help me. Mrs. Sellars is going to wash & iron & clean for me this week & that will help an awful lot. I have been so tired for a couple of weeks.
