Burlington, Ia. Jan. 15, 1943 My Dearest: No letter from you today, but hope to get one in the morning. It is late, so will make this letter short & snappy. I am just where I started from again. The woman I thought I had hired to come next week, called and said she didn't believe she could take the job, so now I don't know what to do. I called the unemployment agency & told them what I wanted and they said they would try to find someone. Ruth had another spell with her stomach tonight. There is something radicilly wrong with her & I will be glad to find out what it is. She is going to Dr. Crow Mon. morning for a complete check up. Kids shoveled walk tonight & did a swell job. We had a heavy snow storm this afternoon. Everything looks beautiful now but bad under foot. I have a very busy day a head of me tomorrow. I have a permanent and also a hair dye bleaches all the other things. Carol Ann isn't feeling so well tonite. She has a cold & I believe she has a little fever. I do hope she won't get sick. Clifford wrote a letter to you, which I will enclose with
