Burlington Ia Thurs 1 o'clock My Dearest: Well all the kids have gone back to school and while ridding up, I find your dog tags, so will send them to you immediately. Hope they go through all O.K. This has sure been a blue morning. I am so sorry I cried so much when you left but just couldn't help it. I am afraid you won't want to come home any more. Honey I surely did hate to see you go. I guess it is because I love you so much. I shall be waiting for the telegram. It has been snowing here constantly. It worries me to have you out in it. After you left this morning, your mother took a pain in her right side. It was pretty severe. I don't know whethter your leaving upset her & caused it or if it is pleurisy. I got a couple of hot water bottles & put her to bed & some cold tablets, & she seems to be better. Hope it isn't anything serious. She is pretty old to be taking all this. It is hard
