The Judge Advocate General's School Ann Arbor, Michigan Feb. 8, 1943 Dearest Dorothea: No mail today, so missed your letter. I got up at 8:00 and cleaned up and read. Intended to go to Church but too late- so ate breakfast and came home and ate dinner at 1:00. Then all of my classmates came back and visited with me until almost 4:30. I hoped he would go but he seemed to want to stay and keep talking. He is a graduate of Yale. He was from Camp Forrest, also. He was commissioned a 1st Lt from Corporal. Some luck. But I'll outrun him before the race is over. You know I’m a slow starter but a very consistent ground gainer, don’t you? Or do you? There isn’t much more to write as nothing much new has happened since my letter of last night. Surely miss you, today, Mommie. And would like to see the kids and "rassle" them, too. Would like to see Mother too. The weather has moderated a great deal. The wind has died down and the sun really shown for a little while. I think I’ll go to a show this evening. We don’t eat here, so will have to get a snack at some drug store. I started reading “Mein Kampf" but may
