was scared to death. Then finally ran out of the snow and of the threat of snow and arrived at Louisville about 6:30. It was dark. Got a modern cabin for $2.50 and was too tired to take a bath - so laid on the bed a while - then put on my coat and walked down the road about 1/4 mile to a restaurant and ate a fried chicken lunch & home and into bed. I had a sinus headache. Didn't wake up until about 7:00 Sunday morning. It was 250 miles. I didn't get started until 9:00 and then on to Ohio. I by-passed (went around) Cincinnatti and expected to go on to Toledo and Detroit and west to Ann Arbor but couldn't see any sense to going thru the big cities for you are too busy driving to see anything anyway and slows you down a lot - so I changed my mind and started up U.S. 127. I got along a ways and it started to rain and rained to beat the cars for a while. Then finally ran out of that. The hills of Tennessee are beautiful to all but so aggravating to drive. I went along the Little Tennessee River for quite a ways in Kentucky. Lots of mules in the hills of Kentucky. Also a lot of Model A Fords
