Cliffie's Drawings were "super-dooper." Camp Forrest, Tenn. Thursday, Jan. 28, 1943. Dearest Dorothea: Your letter of the 25th came with the report cards of John R, Clifford. They certainly are swell. The boys really are learning a lot, aren't they and should be very smart men when they grow up. I am returning the cards herewith. The coal bill really cuts in, doesn't it? It would be terrible if you didn't have some rent coming in to help cushion the load. Mrs. Meyer - you met her at the Officer's Club the night we went over to their table - said to be sure and give you her kindest regards and to tell you she thought you were very sweet. She was bragging about having been married 1 year and 4 months. I told her it had been a little over 13 years for me and she said it didn't look as though it had worried me too much. I guess she didn't notice my grey hair. I'm so glad you get some enjoyment out of the time you are at home with the children. Surely wish you could be there all the time. I suppose the weather has cut down on business a lot. Yes - you might as well rent the other
