Camp Forrest, Tennessee Jan. 21, 1943 Dearest: How is Carol? I surely hope her illness was of short duration. It surely must be the flu. Sorry to hear Ruth is still so bad and sitll think her bad teeth may have been the primary cause of all her illnesses. I'm glad you are not working so much now and wish you would continue that way. I can understand how terribly tired you must be and can only hope things will start breaking better for you. The Jeri Rune thing still appears a mystery to me. Did she meet and marry this fellow while she was working in Keo during the summer? Or did she marry him while going to school in Des Moines. I saw the article in the Keo Eagle but it didn't tell much. Too bad, but she will get over it, I expect. Your surely are having lots of snow there aren't you? Wish I could be there to clean the walks for you. It is fine to know that Mother is
