Camp Forrest, Tennessee Thursday, Jan 14, 1943 My Dearest: I surely hope you have received some of my letters by this time and I am trying to write you once a day to help keep the blues away. Well, if Ruth is quitting - then I guess there isn't any more to worry about that point. If you can't get anyone to stay at nights - then maybe you can get some one who will work day times and go home at nights. Or you might work at the shop in the afternoons, But I can't do much advising on it - cause I don't know what you can work out - but I'm sure it will work out some way and in any event the worst that can happen is for you to have to stay at home all the time. And maybe that wouldn't turn out to be too bad, any way. At least you would have a chance to raise the family. The school at Ann Arbor is ten weeks and they advise you against taking your family. We live in dormitories at $4.50 per week and board at $8.50 per week - $13.00 per week. My cold is almost cured. Winnie is bad sick. I took her to the Vet and he said she had a sprained hip. He also wormed her and she seems to be sick from it. I'm going to get rid of her soon
