Camp Forrest, Tennessee Saturday, Jan 10, 1943 Dear Dorothea: Well, I've seen the gang and they all seemed very happy to see me back and were all very pleased to learn of my success in transferring to the JAG. Col Boal & Maj Winston & Maj Halleck get a big kick out of kidding me about my ritzy car. I guess it was a big mistake to get it, but, honey, there isn't anything to do now but go ahead with it. When I went out to see it this morning it had two flat tires. The old spare - which never was much good and one of the others. I took Major Winston out to see it and the motor started right off. I guess the only thing is to get the tires fixed and drive it through to Michigan. Then either store it & then drive to my new station or else give it away.
