Burlington, [illegible] July 22, 1942 My Dearest - I rec'd three letters from you today. Isn't that funny how they get bunched up? Gladys and [illegible] were down this afternoon. We went out to the new Ordanance plant Cafeteria for supper. I have been hearing how good it was but couldn't brag about it myself. There were too many flies. It sure is a big thing. Then we went out to watch their [illegible] a while. Elmer Witkamp came & painted the back stairs & the bed room floor upstairs. He charged me 7.50. Not so bad. It will look so much better. The apt. was [such?] a dirty mess. No, I didn't get a tire from Mrs [Jamison?] I told her if she wanted to sell one to me seperate I would be glad to buy it, but evidently, she was going to let them all go with the Car. Wilma is still out of town, and won't know until tomorrow whether I can come or not. She might not get home until late tomorrow nite, you can't ever tell. I will just have to wait & see. I went down tot the Rent place and registered the sleeping room today and also got the form to fill out for the apt. I spent about an hour waiting for them to get to me. I rec'd the money order & got it cashed. The grass isn't growing so good now. I guess the rain was too much for it. Just hope it don't all kill out. I am going to fix [Elma?] [Daggs?] up tomorrow. I guess this is the [curl?] for the big event. I will know by tomorrow.
