Burlington, Ia. July, 14, 1942 My Dearest: - Just got home from work and will write & tell you the news. The Jamison's are moving out this week, and am I glad? After he got in that scrape with the car, he joined the Navy & left this morning for Des Moines & will go to Great Lakes Training Station for three weeks. So Mrs. Jamison and her Dad & Mona are going to move in with her Aunt. I guess they will be leaving about thursday, as their rent is up then. We already had a man here this evening that is interested in it. He is a man working at the plant & is going to marry a friend of Helen Phillips. he wanted to see it tonight, but Mrs. Jamison was asleep and we couldn't show it. I saw her tonight & asked her about showing it tomorrow & she said we could early in the morning or else tomorrow night. So we may have it rented right away. The girls name is Brookes that he is marrying & she works at C & E's I am almost afraid to show the apt for fear it will look like it did that night you went up. So be sure & rush those rental papers back to me, as I can't rent it until I get the paper Can I? We will have a week or so to clean it up, as they are going on a honeymoon for a few days. The curtains went to pieces & will have to buy some new ones for the living
