Burlington, Ia [Iowa] July 13, 1942 My Dearest:- Received two letters from you today and so happy to get them. Sorry your work is going to be so hard and that the meals aren't so hot either. When I get down there, I will cook you some good ones over the weekend. It is storming out again tonite. Quite a bit of thunder and lightning. It is raining pretty hard now. It has been beastly hot today, so is quite a relief. I had a very busy day at the shop and was about roasted when I got home, so immediately took a bath and washed my hair and pinned it up and feel much better now. Then I went over to tell the Mc[illegible] goodbye. They are leaving tomorrow for a two weeks vacation. i combed Miss Sarah's hair while I was over there. She is real pleased with her permanent. I received the letters from the rental Div. [division] today. The one for the downstairs apt. [apartment] came registered and I don't quite understand what I have to do with them, so are sending them on to you, for you to read and then tell me what. They cut it down to $20.00 a week. I really think that is enough anyway, don't you? You also got another letter from a Correspondence school. Which I am enclosing and you can ignore it or ans. [answer] which ever you choose. You had better look these rental forms over and then mail right back to me, as I would have to have the form for renting the upstairs if the Jamisons [?] would happen to move out. So be sure and send it right back to me. I just want you to see it. I pd. [paid] Ruth the interest tonite and had her sign both receipts, so you can file them away. I can't find any more of
