Rhetoric - Alex Rier Mt Pleasant Iowa, July 6. 1942. Dear Mrs Calhoun, no doubt you will wonder who is writing to you, we are Mr Calhoun's customers who used to live near Burlington, and we had an account with Mr Calhoun that we have not quite finished paying him. we want to pay the balance now, and have been trying to get in touch of his office and have written there but have got no answer, and thought the only thing left to do, was to write to you, as we know Mr Calhoun is not there. The work he did for us was on some abstract work, and from the figures on the account we have here at hand, and the receipts we have we still owe him $9.00, we are quite sure that is correct, and if you will kindly send us a reply to this letter we will send you a money order for $9.00 and should that amount not be correct, we will make it right later when we hear from Mr Calhoun himself. yours respectfully Mr joe Fiialkowski 801- East Henry St. Mt Pleasant Iowa. p.s. we hesitate to send the money untill we hear from you on Mr Calhoun as we received no reply to our other letter, nor our letter did not return.
