Sunday morn 8:30 a.m. My Dearest:- Here I am in Davenport and have just finished breakfast. I didn't get time to write you last nite, as I worked until six thirty and then had to go home + eat supper and dress + pack. I left at seven and arrived in Davenport at 9:30. They had given me up when it got past nine o'clock and were tickled to see us. The kids all went to sleep on the way. They surely sleep well last night, and ate good breakfasts. Surely miss you honey + wish you could be here today. It is a beautiful day, but very cool. We are going to Glen's for dinner, as it is his birthday today, Gladys baked a hickory nut cake. Honey you asked me if I found the statement in the desk from West Publishing Co. I looked but didn't see anything of it. Where was it? Should it be sent in right away? I havn't paid your (illegible) Syndicate yet either, but will try to tomorrow. I was very busy all week and yesterday was a regular merry go round. I took in over $20 yesterday.
