I am sending you [illegible] notice. It seems like there is always one of these due doesn't it? Gladys said she had received a letter from you yesterday. I didn't get any yesterday but rec'd two Friday. We havn't yet learned whether the report on the bombing of Singapore was true or not. They seem to think it is a false report from the Japs. Surely wish it were true. We were too late to hear the news this morning. Now as to the trip East. You asked whether I would bring the car or not? I don't know whether that one [line?] would take the trip or not. The only thing if anything should happen, we just couldn't buy any. I don't know what to say. We could bring our bedding + everything that way. Which would probably be cheaper. I though I would leave Ruth to take care of things + try to rent the front bed room down stairs to two girls for sleeping room, or could even give them light housekeeping privilege. What would you think of that? I had the car picked up yesterday. Had the [illegible] changed to summer [illegible] + greased + washed + tires checked. So it looked fine now. Won't stay that way long. I though I might as l we love it all [illegible] up at once, for I won't drive it very much. It is whatever you think I should do about driving back in the car. Of course it would be nice to have it often [illegible] got there. It may not
