He didn't say anything about it until the next day it was so swollen, they couldn't set it + after they did he took either pneumonia + died today at 10 o'clock. I feel so sorry for them, but is probably a blessing. You know? I am going to take a rhubarb pie + go over for a while tonight. Carol Anne went to the school [illegible] this afternoon. She is getting so grown up. Just think our baby will be in school. I saw Jodie Drew this morning and he was asking all about you. He said to tell you hello + hoped you soon got back. He heard the war would soon be over. What do you think about it? Ran out of ink + have five minutes to catch my bus, so will bring this to a close. I am half starved + know we are going to have rhubarb pie, so want to make this bus. [Illegible] Love + [Illegible] Dorothea + [Children?]
