and kept them down here while Ruthie went to the funeral. She said Helen wasn't there. Was a very small one I guess. I had my lunch with me today and so did Nettie + we went down to the auditorium and ate it along the river. It is surely beautiful now when you look accrossd to the Ill. side, the trees are getting so green. IfI could get out every day a little bit, it would rest me. I saw Dr. Eisenhart this noon + he was asking all about you. Last nite after we ate supper we went out to [Gaieselo?] + took a walk out in the pasture. It was really beautiful + all the apple trees were in blossom. And what do you think? Cliff went to jump over the little creek + fell in. So I had to come right home. Both feet were muddy + wet. The [Gricsel's?] hate it but, I was afraid he would catch another cold. I have the most beautiful bouquet of lilacs in front of me and do they smell sweet. The lilac bushes are beautiful now. I'll bet the country back there is pretty now isn't it? I gave Mrs. Frank [Schraum?] Jr. a perm today. She is going to a convention in Chicago tomorrow. She always inquires about you. Did you get to go to Washington? I hope you had a good time. You must take care of yourself or you will break. It worries me to death. I'll bet Don was like a lion out of a cage after being cooped up so long. His folks are sure counting on him coming home. They are looking for him before dads birthday which is the 29th. Must get home. Hope you are better! Loads of love + kisses. Your loving wife + kiddies.
